Fell running is a popular and well established activity in the Peak District. It may seem that walking up a hill is hard enough work without trying to do it as fast as possible! But there is tremendous exhilaration to be gained from travelling fast and light on the fells.
Nearly every Well Dressing in the Peak District has an accompanying fell race. These are often shorter and less strenuous events for which entries on the day are accepted and they include races such as Hope Wakes and Hathersage Gala.
The Fell Runners Association is the controlling organisation of the sport and they have a calendar of all the fell races.
